Three Experiences in One!

Wilderness Cruise

Alongside Cairns is a magnificent tidal estuary that is rarely seen, except by fishermen. Only accessible by boat, Crocodile Explorer is the only luxury, air-conditioned cruise taking small numbers of visitors along Trinity Inlet on this scenic nature cruise.

With waterways winding through a 300 square kilometre maze of mangroves, expect rich diverse wildlife, stunning scenery and a relaxing cruise with informative commentary from our crew. This is the saltwater crocodile’s natural habitat – spot them basking on the muddy banks.

Cairns Crocodile Farm

Crocodile Explorer has exclusive access to this commercial crocodile farm. You will arrive either by boat or coach. There are no jumping croc shows here; it is Australia’s largest crocodile farm with over 20,000 farm crocodiles and 200 large breeding crocodiles. Skins from this farm are considered the highest grade in the world (and used for designer handbags and accessories for the rich and famous).

During your insiders tour you’ll get close up to the crocodiles in their natural environment and learn from a very knowledgeable tour guide about breeding habits, how the eggs are collected and how crocodiles are farmed.

Scenic Coach Tour

Scenic coach Tour You will cruise to or from the Crocodile Farm aboard the MV Crocodile Explorer and complete the other one-way journey on a 30 minute coach tour through southern Cairns.

The coach tour takes in the wide open sugar cane fields and surrounding mountain ranges and along the way your guide will give insightful information about the sugar cane industry (a very important part of Far North Queensland’s economy) and the history of the area.

Nature Lovers Paradise

The beautiful secluded Trinity Inlet is a vast tidal estuary; a remote and unique wilderness area only a short distance from Cairns. Discover this maze of waterways and mangroves, home to wild crocodiles, over 70 species of fish and an array of bird life including two million migrating birds that use this Inlet to refuel on their journeys from Alaska, China & Siberia. Even the mangrove forest has a story to tell. With over 25 different species, it has a symbiotic relationship with the Great Barrier Reef.

The mangroves hold sediment away from the clear waters of the reef and the reef provides shelter from storms to the delicate ecosystem and fish nursery within the Inlet.
